VFS Global Warns Nigerian Visa Applicants: Watch Out for Fraudulent Agents

VFS Global, the leading company that manages visa and passport services for governments around the world, has issued a timely warning to Nigerian visa applicants to be aware of phony agents and intermediaries, whom they describe as touts posing as VFS Global officials

This was stated by Mr. Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global. Singhal noted  that the spike in travel activity that began in 2022 persisted throughout 2024, with travel data indicating optimistic prospects.

He went on to say that outbound travel from Nigeria returned to pre-pandemic levels last year, with tourism, family visits, educational and business travels being the most prevalent causes.

Speaking about why applications are frequently rejected, he stated, “The most common reason visa applications are rejected is due to wrong or insufficient information provided when applying for a visa.

“It is critical to examine the individual country websites by going to our website’s document checklist area. The optional form-filling service, which is available at an additional cost in certain locations, may ensure that the proper information is updated.
